AmaTuks, Cosmos gear for basement battle

The University of Pretoria and Jomo Cosmos will go head-to-head in an Absa Premiership grudge match at Tuks Stadium tomorrow. Kick-off is at 3:30pm.

AmaTuks have one win to their name this season, but will be eager to change all that and subsequently close the gap on Ezenkosi who were accused of spying on their former National First Division counterparts this week.

All this makes for an interesting side plot as Tuks aim to rekindle the form they showed this time last year.

“We are fully focused on Saturday’s game, it is an opportunity for us to prove some people wrong, to start giving a little bit of faith back to the people in and around the club, that is the technical staff, the support staff, the management,” said Tuks head coach Sammy Troughton heading into the clash.

“Obviously people are anxious and not happy with the way things went in 2015 so it is vitally important we get off to a good start.

“The opposition are always tough, Jomo [Sono] is a tough cookie, an experienced guy, we are looking forward to the game we will go positive. There is only one result that interests me, the players and the technical staff and that is victory.”

Cosmos midfielder Thabang Monare is pleased with with the clubs build-up to the crucial clash and expects nothing but war to ensue in the Capital. — Supersport.
