Andile KaMajola stands by Dumi Mkokstad amid leaked messages scandal

Gospel singer Andile KaMajola has broken his silence on the controversy surrounding fellow gospel artist Dumi Mkokstad, sharing a heartfelt show of solidarity on Instagram.

The post came just days after private messages, allegedly exchanged between Dumi and an unknown woman, surfaced online and set the gospel music community abuzz. Taking to his Instagram page on Sunday, KaMajola opened with a spiritual reflection on seasons of doubt and spiritual testing.

“Serving God sometimes makes you pass through seasons where you feel like things are turning against you and you ask God so many questions and get no answers, all of a sudden you’re not sure how to face the same people you’re called to serve but isn’t it interesting to know that the God of the mountain is the same God of the valley.”

The message was not just one of comfort. KaMajola used the opportunity to celebrate Dumi’s decades-long contribution to South African gospel music, name-checking beloved songs such as Nangu UJesu, Umoya Wami (Ukuba Awehlanga EZulwini), Ulwandle, Ukuhlala Kuye, and Asikho Isikhali among his many enduring works.

“My brother, Dumi Igwee Mkokstad, your dear wife and family, I’m praying for you and everyone involved in this whole thing… you’re still anointed and thank you for carrying the industry for so many years,” KaMajola wrote, also addressing Dumi by his surnames and clan names.

He extended his compassion beyond Dumi, acknowledging all those hurt by the ordeal.

“To the other parties that are hurt by this as well, I’m sorry this has come to this. I’m sure nobody would have planned this just to hurt another person. May everyone find healing,” he added.
