VICTORIA Falls based musician Andrea The Vocalist has halted any music productions to give full focus to his academics.

The hit-maker is currently doing Form 4 at Mkhosana Adventist Secondary School and will write his O-Levels this year.

In an exclusive interview with Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub, Andrea The Vocalist through his manager Tendai Joe, he said they are giving the artiste space to create an academic environment for him.

“There is no need to make him focus on music whilst his education takes a back seat. O-Level is very important for every Zimbabwean child who wants a better future. There are a couple of singles, but all that must take a back seat. School first. O-Level is important for him, just like every other kid.

“There are a couple of unreleased projects, including one with Amaqaqa and another with Bethany Pasinawo. His O-Level year is very important. He deserves to concentrate like every other child,” said Tendai JAoe.

He said he believes Andrea The Vocalist deserves some space.

“If he chooses music full-time, he’ll do it with education as a foundation. The truth is, Zimbabwe’s music industry is vibrant, but it’s not always sustainable. That’s why we emphasise education as a backup, not a Plan B, but a parallel foundation.

“I know there are people waiting to criticise him, just like others are rooting for him to win. But he shouldn’t be defined by either. What we shouldn’t do, as adults, is drag his school performance into public conversations. That’s private. Ethically, that’s a line no adult, including myself, should cross. Let’s give him time, support, and space to find himself, away from the noise,” said Tendai Joe
