CONTEMPORARY singer Andy Muridzo is at loggerheads with his former wife, Chido Manyange, who is demanding access to their children.
The 33-year-old musician won custody of his two children aged nine and six last year by mutual consent.
According to the court ruling, Mama Keketso — as the socialite is popularly known — was ordered to have “reasonable access to their children every two weeks of school holidays and weekends at her own expense”.
Six months after the ruling, Mama Keketso claims she last saw the children in March.
“I don’t know where my children are staying after Andy left them under the care of his grandmother.
“As a mother, I am concerned because I don’t have access to my kids.
“Like any other mother, I should know where my kids are staying and have reasonable access to them as ordered by the courts.”
The 29-year-old mother accused the singer of blocking her.
“I have been trying to call him but he has blocked me.
“I have been to Machipisa Police Station on several occasions where I raised my issue, but I didn’t get any help.
“I have also been advised to go back to court so that a warrant of arrest can be issued against him, but I am failing to make any headway.
“The last time I heard from a close relative, the kids were staying in Gweru and it’s not what we agreed upon. I am pained as a concerned mother.”
Contacted for comment, Muridzo confirmed the children were in Gweru with his grandmother.
Contrary to claims by his ex-wife that she last saw the kids in March, Muridzo said it was not true.
“She is lying that she last saw them in March. I didn’t block her as she claimed, because we have children together.”
He accused Mama Keketso of being an attention-seeker.
“My former wife is a liar who can do anything for publicity’s sake. Chido can cook up stories to tarnish my image.
“She doesn’t have custody of the children, but she was granted access to them at her own expense during the holidays.
“My challenge with her is that she demands access to them two days before schools open.
“I don’t think it’s fair for someone to come asking for the kids two days before schools open when I am busy with school run,” he said.
The Jeetaz Band leader says his children are safe and attending a better school.
“I don’t need her help to look after the kids because I know I can afford it.
“I have the means to look after my kids because I work hard
