ZIMBABWE woke up to a full-blown love storm this weekend after Shalom Anesu Charamba, the daughter of gospel power couple Pastor Charles and Olivia Charamba, sent social media into overdrive with a dramatic back-to-back marriage celebration that nobody saw coming.

What began as a glamorous birthday celebration on Friday suddenly turned into a surprise engagement party after Shalom was proposed to by Dr Anesu Mpepula, leaving fans stunned and scrambling for details.

But before social media could even recover from the shock, another twist landed on Saturday, Shalom was officially married in a traditional lobola ceremony.

Yes, in less than 48 hours, the celebrated gospel family’s daughter went from birthday girl to fiancée to wife-to-be in what many are calling the biggest faith-family love story of the year.Sources close to the family say Friday’s birthday event looked like a normal celebration until the romantic surprise proposal changed everything.

Guests screamed with joy as Dr Mpepula went down on one knee, while cameras rolled and phones came out at lightning speed at a local restaurant. But Shalom was only getting started.

On Saturday, the bride price celebrations took place at a colourful lobola gathering packed with family, laughter, prayer and traditional pride.

Photos and videos quickly flooded social media timelines, with Zimbabweans praising the union and admiring the speed of events.

The bride herself appeared to be living her best life as she updated followers throughout the celebrations, telling fans to prepare enough internet bundles because she had endless content to share.

“Guys I have so much content. Maneta here? Because I am posting everything, ndakainamatira iyoyi hahah. Forgive me in advance. May this God do it for you,” she posted.

Her message immediately went viral, with many followers laughing and celebrating her joy. Others said they admired how openly excited she was.

Then came another bombshell post when she jokingly addressed people who had predicted she would only marry a pastor because of her famous church background.

“Vese vakabheja neni kuti I’ll marry a pastor, huyai pano, ndukuda mari yangu! I told you so,” she wrote.

That cheeky statement sent timelines into chaos, with fans debating whether they had really expected her to marry a preacher.

Others simply praised her for choosing love on her own terms.

However, many Zimbabweans are still eager to know just how much Dr Anesu Mpepula paid for lobola.

Efforts to get a comment from Shalom on the exact figures were fruitless as she continued celebrating and sharing selected moments online.

However, a close source revealed that the negotiations were smooth, well-arranged and filled with laughter, adding that the groom remained calm throughout the process. “

The doctor was chilled and confident,” said the source.

The Charamba family has long been regarded as Zimbabwean gospel royalty, with Charles and Olivia commanding decades of respect through music ministry, marriage teachings and family values. Their daughter’s wedding has, naturally, attracted huge public interest.

Musicians, church leaders and fans were among those congratulating the couple online, with many saying the celebrations reflected dignity, joy and modern love mixed with tradition.

Some said it was refreshing to see a public figure proudly embrace lobola customs while also sharing the moment with supporters.

A close source has since revealed that the white wedding is now scheduled for August this year.

Speculation is already growing over who might sing at the ceremony. One thing is certain Shalom has mastered the art of keeping people guessing.

Will this become the gospel wedding of the year?
