HEART-THROB actor and musician Anga “NaakMusiq” Makhubalo has found himself a new home in the arts industry.
The actor, who stars as Bantu in the hot new Mzansi Magic drama, Igazi, is set to join Isidingo.
Anga was part of the 16 Generations actors who were fired two years ago.
Sources at the SABC3 soapie said Anga could not resist the offer.
“Money talks, he’s definitely getting a bigger cheque. He’s worth it after all. I know he has signed the contract, I’m not sure whether he’s started shooting or not,” said a source.
The source said Anga was headhunted by the Isidingo team to increase viewership.
“Anga is a big brand who’ll bring in a younger audience because of his successful music career where he’s signed under Afrotainment.”
“They (SABC) know Anga has a following.
He’s liked by both young and old, and has many female fans. So he’ll help Isidingo through his brand.”
The source added that after Anga’s departure from Generations, he looked for many jobs and also focused on his music career.
“He pursued his music career and that boosted his profile as an entertainer.”
Isidingo’s production co-ordinator Malebo Mokoena refused to comment.
Anga, however, confirmed that he had joined Isidingo.
“I started shooting on April 1. I’ll play a young troubled man, Obakeng. He was raised by his dad as his mum had him when she was young, so she gave him up.
“He runs away as his dad can’t handle him. He hustles and will do anything to fend for himself.” – DailySun
