Annolle Castings ready to face Vipers

ANOLLE Castings coach Kenneth Guzura says they are ready to face Sporting Vipers in the Bulawayo Amateur Football Association (Bafa) Auto-Quip Cup Semi-final set for Barbourfields Stadium’s outside grounds tomorrow morning.

Speaking after a semi-final draw on Thursday, Guzura said his charges were raring to go as they had set their sights on winning the competition.

“We know we have been drawn with one of the best teams in the league, but I believe in my team. We have a very youthful side that still has a point to prove, so there is nothing to worry about. Spirits are high in the team and we are now waiting for the day to come,” said Guzura.

The other semi-final will feature Unity Village and Safe Guard at the same venue on Sunday afternoon.

Auto-Quip representative Ralph Gumbo said the sponsorship was part of his company’s corporate social responsibility.

“We are proud to be associated with one of the oldest amateur leagues in the city and we hope to make this an annual competition. Auto-Quip is one of the leading motor spares in the country so this is one of our ways of giving back to the community. We want to see this league getting big with more teams joining,” Gumbo said.

Bafa vice-chairperson Charles Chunda expressed gratitude for the sponsorship, saying they were hoping to build a long lasting relationship with the company.

“We really appreciate what our sponsors have done and I want to appeal to all the teams to show the same. Some teams have not fulfilled their fixtures, while others deliberately come to their matches late which I believe portrays a bad image of our league. I want to encourage teams to come on time for all their games so that this partnership lasts,” Chunda said.
