Local hair fair Zimbabwe Afro and Sleek Hair show will for the first time run for three days from November 26 to 28 at the Harare Showgrounds. At least 200 hair practitioners are going to be battling out for the big prize.
In an interview, Zash spokesperson Ruth Dengwani said this year’s event, which has seen the organisers partnering with the Zimbabwe Agriculture Society is going to be bigger and better.
“We are excited to bring the biggest hair and beauty show in its second year running. ZASH 2015 in partnership with Zimbabwe Agriculture Society and Curtleys Day Spa and salon is bigger and better, with lots of exciting activities, not only for those in the industry but even for the general public,” she said.
She also highlighted that a number of artistes from different genres are set to perform on the three day beauty expo. “We are going to have a number of artistes from different genres performing at the event, I cannot say the names of the artistes right now for professional reasons but I can assure people that they should look forward to a great show as big names in the entertainment scene are set to perform,
“We are also going to have two Afro Jazz musicians who are going to perform during a dinner on the last day of the expo,” she said.
The hair show for hairdressers was showing their creativity was launched last year at the Harare International Conference Centre and the event was graced by tourism minister Walter Mzembi.
Jah Prayzah and Soul Jah Love headlined the hair show, which saw 36-year-old Harare hairdresser Primrose Kazunza scooping the big prize of a Toyota Vito while other four winners walked away with hampers and trips to South Africa.
