Annual national agribusiness conference date set

Herald Correspondent

The National Economic Consultative Forum (NECF) is set to host the annual National Agribusiness Conference on August 30 in Harare.

Stakeholders in the agricultural sector are expected to attend.

It will run under the theme, “Sustained growth: Climate and Technology. Adaptation. Productivity. Linkages”.

The conference will be held on the sidelines of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show 2023, and is expected to be an informative, engaging and collaborative event.

The NECF annual conference, which is the 11th, is a platform for stakeholders in the agricultural space to come together, share knowledge, and discuss the latest trends, technologies, and policies in the sector.

The theme of this year’s conference is relevant to the current challenges facing the agricultural sector in Zimbabwe.

Climate change, for instance, is having a significant impact on the sector, with unpredictable weather patterns affecting crop yields and increasing the prevalence of pests and diseases.

Technology, on the other hand, provides an opportunity for farmers to adopt more efficient and sustainable practices, such as precision farming and hydroponics.

The conference will feature a range of speakers, including policymakers, researchers, and farmers who will share experiences and insights on the challenges and opportunities facing Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector.

Panel discussions and breakout sessions on a number of topics, including climate-smart agriculture, digital technologies, and value chain development, will be held.

In addition to the wealth of knowledge and insights that delegates will gain from attending the conference, there will also be ample opportunities for networking and collaboration.

The conference provides an opportunity for stakeholders in the agricultural sector to come together, share ideas, and form partnerships that can lead to innovations and business opportunities.
