THE community of Beitbridge is abuzz with excitement as the Beitbridge Corporate and People’s Choice Awards are set to unfold this evening. Nominees have expressed their gratitude towards the event organisers for orchestrating such a distinguished ceremony.
The anticipation is palpable among the nominees, who are eager to see the awards catalyse new business opportunities that could foster growth and expansion.
For some, this marks their inaugural nomination, while others are experiencing the thrill of recognition for the second consecutive year, with the sentiment of exhilaration remaining as vivid as when the awards were first launched.
Now in its second year, the awards continue to celebrate the achievements and entrepreneurial spirit of Beitbridge’s finest.
Lindiwe Sinyoro of Reliable Hardware, a repeat nominee, shared her enthusiasm for the possibility of retaining the award. Nonetheless, she maintains a gracious stance, acknowledging that the honour of nomination alone signifies a noteworthy achievement.
“We are nominated with some other hardware companies and should we win it would be a plus one but even if we don’t we would still be happy. We believe all the other nominees in our category are already winners and deserve to be celebrated,” said Sinyoro.
The hardware company specialises in supplying plumbing, electrical, building material and steel in the border town.
Susan Shumba, another nominee, expressed her delight at the organisers’ efforts in hosting the Beitbridge Corporate and People’s Choice Awards. She highlighted the event’s significance as a prime opportunity for networking and fostering business growth. The awards ceremony has become a highlight for the local business community, eagerly awaited by entrepreneurs and professionals alike as a celebration of excellence and collaboration.
“We are happy to have been nominated especially because we are still new in the game. I am running Adriel Junior School where we are offering our students both Zimsec and Cambridge curricula. We are happy about the upcoming awards because they will give us a chance to mingle with potential customers,” said Shumba.
The awards which are taking place today will be held at Zebra Hilltop Lodge in Beitbridge. – @flora_sibanda
