VETERAN Chicken Inn head coach Joey “Mafero” Antipas says his side will need to play like devils when they take on relegation-threatened Triangle United at Gibbo Stadium on Sunday.
With only four games left in the 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, both teams are desperate for points to escape the dreaded drop zone. The Gamecocks head into the clash on 13th place with 33 points, while Thabani “Scara” Kamusoko’s Triangle United sit on 11th with 34 points, tied with Manica Diamonds.
“Triangle are a very good side and they have been picking up,” Antipas said. “We will need to go there and play like devils. We want to put up a good show and for now I’m happy we are injury free.”
The Gamecocks will rely on key players including goalkeeper Donovan Bernard, captain Xolani “Lolo” Ndlovu, the combative duo Neilson Ketala and Itai Mabunu, as well as attacking threats Brian Muza and Michael Charamba to secure a vital result.
Gibbo Stadium promises to be a hotspot for football lovers as the tight points gap ensures an intense battle. Every ball, tackle, and goal will count in this relegation scrap.
Other fixtures on Match Day 31 will also keep fans glued to the screens. Highlanders will lock horns with Dynamos at Barbourfields Stadium in a classic showdown. CAPS United face Manica Diamonds at Rufaro Stadium, Yadah Stars meet ZPC Kariba at the Heart Stadium, while FC Platinum tackle TelOne at Mandava Stadium.
