The match is one of three mouth-watering matches set for tonight, with the other pitting Parkview Lions against the National Railways of Zimbabwe-sponsored Railstars at Parkview Sports Club while the Nancy Mlambo-captained Parkview Kanka are home to debutants Zimbabwe Saints.
The match of the evening features the Mkhululi Dube-captained Archers against the Tapera Makado-led police team.
Makado is in such good form that last week he hit three 180s and an equal number of 140 match plays when they tamed Parkview Lions 22-17. Despite not losing a match so far this season due to the talented players they have, Archers made a sensational scoop last week when they lured Highlanders’ Brian Ndlovu, a move that further heightened tensions between them and the black and white striped outfit.
Victory for Archers will see them topple Fairbridge at the top but in the event of them losing the match, they could find themselves sliding down to sixth position on the standings as the next three teams behind them, have relatively easy assignments.
Fourth-placed Supermed Pharmacy-sponsored Highlanders are away to struggling Zimbabwe School of Mines while fifth-placed Ah-Sat are also on the road to Civil
Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe. Railstars, a point behind Archers, will seek to give Parkview Lions their second loss on the trot.
All the three teams however have played a game less than Archers following byes where they were supposed to play Delta, who pulled out on the eve of the start of the 2012 darts season.
