ZPC Hwange 0-1 Arenel
Title chasing Arenel made sure there is daylight between themselves and nearest challenges ZPC Hwange after the visitors put a determined performance to switch off ZPC Hwange in a top of the table Zifa Southern Region Division One league match played before a huge crowd at Chakona Stadium yesterday.
The power generators needed the win badly to cut the gap to two points with a victory but Arenel had other ideas as they left Chakona with a comfortable eight points cushion at the top, and with it a clearer sight at the winners crown come end of the campaign.
Leeroy Ndlovu grabbed the most important goal for the Bulawayo team in the 20th minute after latching on to a teasing cross from Reason Sibanda to hammer home from close range leaving huge ZPC Hwange goalkeeper London Zulu with no chance
The goal gave Arenel some firepower to drive forward and they thought they had made it 2 up ten minutes from half time when Ndlovu again hit the nets but his goal was ruled out as assistant referee Francis Mkwebu signalled that the ball gone out of play before the cross which Ndlovu latched on to score what would have been the second cushion goal.

ZPC Hwange started firing from “all units “ in the last half aftee the introduction of veterans Carrington Gomba, Justin Kaunda early in the second half as they started launching forays into the Arenel half but the elusive goal couldn’t come.
Substitute Errnest Gwitima came close with flashing header in the 67th minute but his header hit the side nets with another substitute Praymore Mlilo also missing from close range five minutes from time as ZPC Hwange shed gallons for the equaliser that never came.
Arenel coach Kudzai Mhandire was pleased and said all went according to game plan while his opposite number Njabulo Dube refused to thrown in the towel and said its still game despite the morale shattering loss.
