ARENEL Movers from the ZIFA Southern Region Division One Soccer League became the first team to gain promotion to the Premier Soccer League this season after a 1-1 draw with Mainline at the weekend.
The races are still open in the Northern, Central and Eastern Regions where there are at least two teams still with a chance of winning promotion.
Black Mambas, who looked set for coronation in the Northern Region, are facing a real threat from Chegutu Pirates who are now four points behind.
In the Eastern Region, Bikita Minerals have risen from the dead and are now top of the league after winning their weekend fixture against Rusitu Tigers 1-0 while former leaders FC Wangu Mazodze’s fine run was put to an end by Tenax after a 2-0 defeat and they are now a point behind the Lithium Boys.
