Argentina overpower spirited Tonga

Cape Town – Argentina have defeated Tonga 45-16 in a Rugby World Cup Pool C clash played at the King Power Stadium in Leicester. Tonga gave a good account of themselves, especially in the first half where they managed to cross the Argentinian line for two unconverted tries, first through Kurt Morath and then massive prop, Soane Tonga’uiha. Morath also added penalty.

Argentina scored two tries of their own through Joaquin Tuculet and Juan Imhoff. Both were converted by Nicolas Sanchez and the flyhalf added a further two penalties.

The half time score was 20-13.

As the match went on Argentina began to dominate their less fancied opponents, scoring a further three tries through Sanchez, Julian Montoya and Santiago Cordero which secured a bonus point. Sanchez converted two and added a further two penalties.
