The Zanu-PF leadership in the province said it was unlikely that Mr Zietsman’s murder was linked to politics. Zanu-PF Mashonaland Central provincial chairman, Cde Dickson Maphios said: “He was a very good neighbour and an all-weather friend. He used to assist the party and local farmers by providing transport to rallies. Zietsman also used to assist resettled farmers with farming inputs and implements.”
Cde Maphios said Zanu-PF had a positive working relationship with Zietsman.
“For anyone to align Zanu-PF with the murder of this good neighbour is an insult,” he said.
The Commercial Farmers Union also expressed concern over the criminals who are targeting their members.
