A BUSINESSMAN and his family were terrorised by armed robbers, who then stole his vehicle, US$10,000 in cash and more than US$80,000 in jewellery, at his home in Chisipite.
The incident happened on Monday.
Shou Mel Lin, 55, chief executive officer of Happy Day Sanitary Wear, was attacked by four armed robbers at around midnight.
His two children were left nursing injuries from the ordeal.
Shou was rushed to a hospital where he was admitted.
The robbers ransacked the house and stole a hand bag containing US$10,000 cash, a pistol, diamond and gold jewellery worth US$80,00, three Oppo cellphones from the three house occupants and drove away in his black Toyota Fortuner, registration ACW 5892.
The security guard manning the house was left tied with shoe laces.
“The robbers were armed with two unidentified rifles, a crowbar and an axe.
“The crowbar and axe, which were used to break the doors, were recovered at the scene,” said one of the house occupants.
The case was reported at ZRP Highlands under RRB 6847035.
