Arrows’ Mutizwa voted MOTM in Richards Bay win

ZIMBABWEAN striker, Knox Mutizwa picked up the Man of the Match accolade when his team, Lamontville Golden Arrows defeated Richards Bay 1-0 in a DStv Premiership encounter played at King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban on Saturday.

Ryan Moon scored the only goal of the match in the sixth minute to secure three points for Abafana Bes’thende. 

Richards Bay finished the match with 10 players after Abel Mabaso was sent off in the 37th minute.

Mutizwa has adjudged the best player on display in the match at the end of the 90 minutes as Arrows picked up their ninth win of the season, which saw them move to 32 points.

It has been a great 2022/23 season for the 29-year-old Zimbabwean striker who has really come alive especially in 2023. Mutizwa has scored six league goals in 20 matches for Arrows this season and also provided five assists. All his goals were scored in 2023. 

Mutizwa has netted 56 times for Arrows in all competitions and is the KwaZulu-Natal based side’s all-time leading goal scorer having surpassed Mabhuti Khenyeza who scored 43 goals in all competitions.— @Mdawini_29
