Arsenal after Khedira

LONDON. — Arsenal have raced ahead in the chase to sign Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira after launching a £23m bid for the German international. Arsenal have also tabled a £32 million bid for Alexis Sanchez as Arsene Wenger prepares a charm offensive to land the Chile World Cup star ahead of rivals Liverpool. The Gunners boss will meet Sanchez’s agent in Brazil this weekend to convince the forward that he should move to the Londoners ahead of the other clubs competing for his signature.

Madrid are open to selling Khedira as they look to rejuvenate their midfield, with funds needed to land either Toni Kroos or James Rodriguez. Wenger is on the lookout for a defensive enforcer as he looks to add steel to his midfield.

And reports from Germany indicate the Frenchman has moved ahead of Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea in the pursuit of the 27-year-old by launching a £23m bid. — Mailonline-Daily Star.
