Artistry meets branding

IN a world saturated with brands vying for attention, it takes something truly unique to stand out from the crowd. Takudzwa Mushove, a 23-year-old Bulawayo entrepreneur from Cowdray Park, understands this concept well.

As the founder of “Bryan Darker Graphics”, his branding company that specialises in T-shirt and cup branding as well as banner and billboard designs, Mushove firmly believes that being unique is what sets his brand apart from the rest.

Inspired by his passion for art, Mushove embarked on this entrepreneurial journey, fuelled by the creativity that flowed through his veins.

“Art inspired me to start this company since at school we used to draw and sketch. Considering that fashion and art go hand in hand, I thus fell in love with art,” he said.

The idea of creating, imagining and bringing something to life through art motivated his desire to establish his own branding company.

What makes Mushove’s brand truly exceptional is its fusion of art and self-expression. With a personal preference for a style that never fades, he embraces his uniqueness and creates his own distinct signature. While drawing inspiration from other fashion designers, Mushove ensures that his creations remain true to his artistic vision.

He understands that his brand is not just about products; it’s a form of art, a means of self-expression.

Mushove highlighted the importance of establishing a strong connection with clients. He firmly believes in the power of mutual understanding.

“Always address the customer with their name. It’s just a bit tricky and you may think that there’s no need to do this, but it is the most important thing to do as it will calm down the customer so that you can then apologise for whatever wrong thing that you would have done.”

Sympathy and empathy play key roles in Mushove’s approach, as he strives to solve any customer problems and even offers compensatory gestures when necessary.

Recognising the immense power of collaboration, Mushove underscores its role in balancing creativity and business growth. He believes in connecting with like-minded individuals who share his creative vision and work ethics. Through collaboration, both parties can benefit and expand their audiences and brands.

“Collaboration is a brilliant way to balance creativity, business and grow your audience and brand,” Mushove said passionately.

Remaining updated with the latest fashion trends is crucial,” says Mushove.

To accomplish this, he actively follows fashion influencers and bloggers who are often at the forefront of emerging trends. Additionally, he immerses himself in magazines, fashion websites and fashion shows to stay ahead of the curve. By incorporating these trends into his own personal style, Mushove ensures that his brand remains relevant and appealing to his target audience.

While Mushove has encountered challenges such as the rising costs of raw materials, he has found innovative ways to overcome them.

Leveraging Web 2.0 applications such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp statuses, he effectively reaches out to his target audience, connecting with them directly.

For Mushove, building a real connection with clients is more effective than traditional marketing strategies.

He believes that this authentic connection fosters trust and loyalty leading to long-term success. — @TashaMutsiba
