. . . as Pamuzinda gears for ‘Zora Butter’

and if anything, “Extrabasso” as Macheso is called by fans, is set to pick up from where he left off at the Defence Forces Day celebrations.
This will also be his first show at the joint since his return from the United Kingdom last month where he impressed with his performances.
This alone is ample testimony to the fact that Macheso is on top of his game despite losing some of his members earlier this year.
The gifted bassist, dancer and vocalist is expected to play his crowd favourites like “Madhuve”, “Madhawu”, “Wemakonzo”, “Chimoko Changu” and “Tafadzwa” which is named after his second wife.
His discography touches on a number of social issues which people can relate to, hence the popularity.
Macheso will share the stage with contemporary reggae musician Jah Prayzah.
Jah Prayzah has seen his star rising in recent months and he has been holding sold-out shows lately.
His songs like “Ngwarira Kuparara” and “Gochi Gochi” have become hits among music lovers.
No wonder he has been sharing the stage with some of the country’s leading musicians that include Macheso, Oliver Mtukudzi and Leonard Zhakata.
Partson Chimbodza of Chipaz Promotions said the show was also a way of obliging soccer fans who enjoy the “Zora Butter” brand.
“We urge people to come and witness ‘Zora Butter’ in action,” he said.
From the time he ventured into music, Macheso has  continued to grow his brand.
Since the formation of Orchestra Mberikwazvo in 1997, Macheso has gone on a bass guitar revolution.
You feel it in the varied bass guitar vibes that change as you move from “Petunia” to “Madhawu” and “Tererai”.
His bass guitar tends to be the axis around which everything else in this band revolves.
Macheso’s style has a kind of reckless abandon that only the happy leader of a band can allow.
It speaks of innovation and ingenuity, and when he gets on stage, his fans know that they have got hours of serious revelling to look forward to.
So his sojourn to Pamuzinda Highway Xscape, which has become his second home after the Aquatic Complex, will afford his fans an opportunity to enjoy a night of uninterrupted fantasy.
Meanwhile, Suluman and Allan Chimbetu will tomorrow ignite a revelling mood when they descend at New Life Night Club in Budiriro 2.
The duo, who are still fresh from the late Simon Chimbetu’s bash in Chinhoyi, are expected to thrill  their dendera fans.
On the other hand, Zoey and her dancing girls will take their act to Zimunhu Bar in Epworth on Sunday.
