Asaph will tonight launch his new EP, The Big Mhofu at Ster-Kinekor cinema in Bulawayo where the American superhero film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will also be premiered.

The organisers said they decided to combine the two events after realising that their dates were clashing.

“My EP and the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever movie will be launched on the same day, the 11th of November. We felt it could be a good move to partner with Ster-Kinekor and have a two-fold celebration,” said Asaph.

The rapper highlighted that he will be the only performing act at the premiere although his music is not used on any of the soundtracks in the movie.

“For him, launching the EP at this event will be a good marketing platform for my music and also gives me exposure,” said Asaph.

The Big Mhofu EP which was released two weeks ago has seven tracks; Mtukudzi Flow, Nothing To Lose featuring Ganyaz Jr, Keeping It G, Learn To Live featuring Bhekiwe, The Business featuring Holy Alpha, First Day featuring Bhekiwe and Thebelele featuring Loki.

Asaph said he is looking forward to tonight as Black Panther is one of his favourite superheroes.

“The late Chadwick represents Africa across the world because we could see ourselves in a Hollywood hero. Just being mentioned in the same sentence is an honour and I hope I can also be a symbol of representation for my city and country,” said Asaph.

Ster-Kinekor management said all is set for the movie premiere and Asaph’s EP launch. They said they had a limited number of tickets which have been sold out.

“Unfortunately, the tickets have been sold out. We had a limited number of tickets that was corresponding with our cinema capacity. Arrangements have been made for the movie to be screened after premiere bookings,” said one of the officials.
