Zanu-PF candidate for Wedza South constituency and businessman Cde Tinoda Machakaire has donated an assortment of goods worth thousands of dollars to the underprivileged in his constituency. Cde Machakaire also availed 2 000 litres of diesel for the upgrading of all the roads in Wedza South.

Handing over the assortment of goods and diesel to Wedza South ward councillors last week, Cde Machakaire said his mission was to improve the living conditions of people in his constituency.

“I made several trips to the constituency talking and listening to people, I noticed that most of them have difficulties in making ends meet, there is poor infrastructure and the community needs clean water among other things,” he said.

“I had talked to all the ward councillors to write down names of those who are struggling to make the ends meet and today this donation will go to those people.

“As a constituency, we must love one another and share with those who are in need because their happiness should be our happiness also.”

Cde Machakaire said his mission as a businessman and a politician was to make sure there was infrastructure development in Wedza.

“Our President Cde ED Mnangagwa is always saying Zimbabwe is open for business, this means every part of the country is open for business and this includes Wedza,” he said.

“And for investment to come to our communities, we need to improve our road infrastructure. Most of our roads in Wedza South are unusable, so today I am availing 2 000 litres of diesel, which will be used to upgrade all the roads in Wedza South and more fuel will be availed as the work progresses.”

Cde Machakaire tasked all ward councillors to work with the responsible authorities in the road rehabilitation programme.
He embarked on borehole drilling programme in all wards to provide clean water to the people.

Cde Machakaire appealed to ward councillors to work properly with the people and always preach peace and love as the nation heads for the general elections.

In March this year, Cde Machakaire donated a fully equipped ambulance to Wedza District Hospital.
