Assaulting colleague with screwdriver proves costly

A Glen Norah man appeared in court over the weekend for allegedly stabbing a collegue three times with a screwdriver on the chest after he insulted him using obscene language.

Tendai Mukosa(22) appeared before Harare regional magistrate Mr Donald Ndirowei charged with attempted murder. He was remanded in custody to April 19. He was advised to apply for bail at the High Court.

The State alleged that on Friday at around 5pm Mukosa had a misunderstanding with the complainant as alleged that he had insulted him using vulgar language.

Out of anger Mukosa allegedly took a screw driver and stabbed the complainant four times on the upper right side. He sustained a deep cut and bled profusely.

Meanwhile, a 26-year-old man Tyson Rusike appeared before the same magistrate charged with rape.

The State alleged that from June 2023 to date Rusike was having forced anal sexual intercourse with her under aged wife who is aged 15. The matter came to light on April 3 when the complainant was assaulted by Rusike for refusing to have anal sexual intercourse with him. He was remanded in custody to April 19.
