Attorney General Mabiza, commissioners sworn in

Newly-appointed Attorney General Virginia Mabiza, as well as three commissioners of the Zimbabwe Gender Commission (ZGC) took their oaths of office before President Mnangagwa at State House in Harare today.

The three ZGC commissioners are Mr Walter Tonderayi Musuka, Ms Angeline Vere and Mr Jigu Katsande.

Speaking following the swearing in ceremony, Mrs Mabiza said she would discharge her duties diligently.

Mrs Mabiza previously served as the country’s Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Permanent Secretary.

“I am ready to serve. Let me start by expressing my deep gratitude to His Excellency, the appointing authority for bestowing this position to a woman,” she said.

The three commissioners also pledged to hit the ground running and ensure gender balance prevails in the country.
