The African Union Commissioner for Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Professor Gaspard Banyankimbona, has arrived at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport ahead of the third edition of Africa Skills Week, which begins in Harare tomorrow.

Zimbabwe will host the continental event from October 12 to 16 at the Harare International Conference Centre, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, training institutions, investors and young innovators to discuss ways of aligning skills development with employment creation and industrial growth.

Running under the theme “Skills for Resilient and Competitive Industries, From Training to Value Addition”, the event is expected to attract more than 644 international delegates, over 1 000 local participants and more than 60 exhibitors.

It will focus on youth and industrialisation, artificial intelligence, private sector participation and strengthening the link between training and industry needs.
