A 67-year-old Australian tourist has reportedly gone missing in Victoria Falls prompting security and tourism stakeholders to embark on a full swing aerial and ground search in a bid to locate him.
The tourist has been missing for seven days after leaving his hotel last Saturday. Zimparks spokesperson Mr Tinashe Farawo confirmed the incident saying various stakeholders have since engaged on a search mission.
“A 67-year-old Australian tourist went missing in Victoria Falls and police and the Zimparks reaction teams are on the ground searching for him. Drones, sniffer dogs, trackers are also on the ground to increase coverage,” said Mr Farawo.

According to sources close to the missing tourist, the Australian man is well travelled and was visiting Victoria Falls for the fourth time.
“The Australian gentleman is well travelled and does not take risks. This is his fourth visit to Victoria Falls. We are imploring all stakeholders and residents to please keep their eyes open, report any possible or recent sightings to Assistant Inspector Chikutwe at ZRP and alert us immediately. Let’s do what we can to try to locate our visitor,” said the source.
Private tour operators in Victoria Falls have since partnered the security forces through contributing resources like helicopters and personnel towards the search party.
