AU signs an agreement with Johnson & Johnson for 400m doses of Covid-19 vaccines

The African Union (AU) has signed an historic agreement with Johnson & Johnson for the supply of 400 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines.
In an historic procurement agreement signed on 28 March 2021, all AU states, through the African Vaccine Acquisition Trust (AVAT), set up in November 2020 under the AU chairmanship of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, will have access to 220 million doses of the Johnson & Johnson single-shot Covod-19 vaccine.
