UNITED KINGDOM-BASED gospel singer Eleana Makombe is basking in glory after receiving four nominations yesterday at the Ezekiel Guti Legacy Awards.

The prestigious awards ceremony is scheduled for May 3 during the Legacy Musical Show at Braeside Zaoga Church in Harare.

Eleana has been nominated in Best Gospel Artist, Best Music Video, Best Song and People’s Choice categories.

She faces stiff competition from Sir Benjamin Rupapa, Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave, Vocal Base, Probity Mutsambiwa, Pastor Lavy Mlilo and Melissa Makwasha.

The awards seek to honour Zimbabweans who are members of Zaoga Forward in Faith across the globe and voting has already begun.

In an interview, Eleana shared her surprise at the nominations, stating: “I would say this is God and thank you for the nomination.”

She urged her fans to participate in the voting process, saying, “I encourage and urge my fans to start voting so we bring the gongs home.”

Eleana returned to Zimbabwe last week for the Easter celebrations, performing at the Resurrection Rhapsody at the Glamis Arena, where she delivered a captivating performance.

Her trip back home, she said, was not a holiday, but a continuation of her music career.

“I came back not for holiday but it’s music business as usual as I have started rehearsals for the Grateful concert scheduled for May 31 in the United Kingdom,” she said.

With her band based full-time in Zimbabwe, Eleana expressed gratitude for their support as she prepares for her upcoming projects.
