The stage is set for a home-grown musical celebration this weekend as The Hub in Bulawayo hosts an all-local music extravaganza headlined by Insimbi ZeZhwane.
Set for Saturday, the event is not just a show, it is a movement aimed at promoting local artistry and giving Bulawayo musicians the spotlight they deserve. With a line-up that blends rhumba and dancehall, the event promises high energy and authentic local flavour.
Joining Insimbi ZeZhwane on the bill are Jah Practice, Bovas, King Practice, and King Kandy, a mix of rising and established acts poised to set the stage alight with rhythm and lyrical flair.
Designed to be a family-friendly outdoor affair, the show, expected to kick off at 2pm, will allow revellers to bring their own cooler boxes for a small fee, giving fans the perfect opportunity to chill, dance, and support local talent in a laid-back environment.
Speaking to Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub, The Hub’s manager, Desire Malaba, said the goal is to empower local artistes who are often regulars at the venue.
“We’re supporting local artistes and giving them a platform to showcase their talent while interacting with those who’ve already made waves in the industry. This event is a celebration of Bulawayo’s vibrant talent pool,” said Desire.
He added that attendees should brace themselves for an electrifying afternoon and evening, packed with talent that is often overlooked but undeniably world-class.
As the slogan goes, “Local is Lekker”, and with Insimbi ZeZhwane at the helm, Saturday promises to be a powerful reminder of the musical gems that lie within Zimbabwe’s own borders. – Follow on X: @mthabisi_mthire
