GOSPEL muso Vusa Mangena, who received his first Bulawayo Arts Awards (BAA) gong after winning in the Outstanding Gospel Artiste category, has already hit the ground running, as he has released a full-length album titled Sewakhile.

The project has tracks including, Munotida, Igama Lakho featuring Laura (produced by Nkosana Mangena), Ophuzayo, Yehlela Kithi, Moya oNgcwele featuring Praxy and Just Percy, Udumo Nenkazimulo featuring Just Percy, OkaNkulunkulu, Wongigcina featuring Rev Zulu, as well as Sewakhile.

Vusa Mangena said the album pays gratitude to God’s love and support.
“This project is about seeking God and the Holy Spirit, and raising the name of our Lord Jesus high. I know when we give Him all the praise and glory, he comes down, and when he comes down, there won’t be any obstacle on the way as He takes charge and control of any situation,” said Mangena.

Within the album, the song Wongigcina is close to his heart as he featured Rev Zulu and his mother.

“I was so honoured to do a project with my overseer and my mother. To me that’s the greatest thing ever in my music career and it’s a blessing.

“People loved the song and they connect with it more as I dropped it as a single, before the album. The song has been on the charts for the past six months and I know it will continue doing well,” said Mangena.

As we have entered 2026, Mangena said this year he is looking forward to collaborating with both local and international artistes.

“I have done a lot of music and I feel I haven’t done much because most people don’t know my music. With that in mind, I want to do more church visits, more music videos and pushing hard on my social pages so that I expose myself and my art out there.

“In doing all this, I am looking forward to collaborating with fellow artistes, promoters and congregates as I know I will meet many at church who are looking forward to be healed by my music,” said Mangena.

He revealed that his win at the BAAs will guide and strengthen him as he looks forward to a solid year ahead.
“I was not expecting to win the BAAs, it came as a surprise to me. The win will keep me grounded and motivated as I will be creating more music this year,” he said.
