THE Bulawayo Athletics Board (Bab) will bring the curtain down on the 2017 season when they host their traditional season-concluding road races as well as an awards ceremony to honour the best performing athletes of the campaign.

Bab chairperson, Manuel Mpofu said the 2017 season was fruitful for athletes and the association.

“This was a great year for us, we managed to host as per our calendar of events.

“We hosted and defended the inter-provincial cross country championships, managed to secure an office at White City Stadium for our day to day running of athletics in the province which was another positive.

“We are certainly looking forward to the last events of the calendar year.

“Traditionally we finish the season with road races, we will play host to the Hope Fountain 30km road race that is slated for November 12 that would be followed up by the Liquor Hub 10km road race and 5km fun walk and run on December 3, the same day we are going to have an awards ceremony for those athletes that excelled throughout the year,” he said.

Bab said they are already making plans for the new 2018 season which include trials for their provincial squad.
