This came to light after reports that she failed to turn up for a show in South Africa at the weekend.
Unnamed sources said the sultry voiced singer gave birth a day before her scheduled trip to South Africa leading to in the cancellation of her concert.
Fungisai and her husband- cum-manager Courage Mashavave now have three children – Tawananyasha (five), two-year-old girl Matipanyasha also known as Nysa and the latest arrival.
Speculation had been rife as to when the diva would give birth after she performed at the 21st Movement Gala at the National Sports Stadium in February.
Fungisai put up a flawless act despite her pregnancy and left many wondering when she was due.
Now, it seems the long wait is finally over.
According to one Zimbabwean fan based in South Africa, Fungisai was supposed to perform at a concert in that country but could not make it after she delivered a bouncing baby.
“I am a Zimbabwean citizen residing in South Africa and I am bitter about what happened to us last weekend.
“We saw a gospel show advertised here featuring Zimbabwean diva Fungisai and bought tickets for R120.
“On the morning of the show news went round South Africa that she was no longer coming because she had given birth a day before,” the fan who spoke on condition of anonymity said.
Efforts to seek a comment from Fungisai proved fruitless as her mobile phone went unanswered at the time of going to print.
Her husband was said to be out of office when the Herald paid him a visit.
The fan went on: “Could it be true that she was ever meant to come here or it’s one of those tsotsis trying to make money from us?
“The confusing thing is that she wrote on her Facebook page that she was coming here a month before the date of the show.
“If it’s true then how could they have signed a contract when they knew she was pregnant (and) wouldn’t make it? Or was it a marketing strategy between the promoter and her managers?”
Fungisai is one of the country’s most popular female gospel musicians with a string of hit albums to her name.
She recently launched her album, “Highway” while others like “Chandisimudza” and “Toita Zvedenga” among others, are part of her catalogue.
