South Africa sealed qualification to the global showpiece, joining England, Ivory Coast, Saudi Arabia, and Senegal as the latest nations to punch their tickets.
A total of 28 teams have now confirmed their spots for the tournament, which will be co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
All nine African slots are now filled, but the race isn’t over yet — Cameroon, DR Congo, Gabon, and Nigeria will battle it out in the intercontinental play-offs for the continent’s potential final berth.
