Bafana Bafana name CHAN squad

JOHANNESBURG. — Gordon Igesund has been able to name Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns players in his squad for the African Nations Championships (CHAN) finals after a compromise was made between the PSL and Safa yesterday morning. Igesund named his 23-man squad, which includes six players from champions Chiefs — Itumeleng Khune, Tefu Mashamaite, Tsepo Masilela, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Siphiwe Tshabalala and Bernard Parker.

The Sundowns players selected are Tebogo Langerman, Bryce Moon, Hlompho Kekana, Jabulani Shongwe and Katlego Mashego.

The compromise is that these players will return to their clubs after the first round of matches to play a PSL fixture between AmaKhosi and Sundowns on January 23, and then return to the CHAN squad thereafter if South Africa have made it through to the knockout stages.
