A BULILIMA baker allegedly raped two juveniles aged seven and nine years on two separate occasions at knife point after using buns to lure them into his house.
Prince Maisa, 35, who is a baker at Matiwaza Bakery in Madlambuzi, appeared before Plumtree magistrate, Livard Philemon facing two counts of rape.
He was remanded in custody to January 11.
Maisa gave the two girls cream puffs and then promised to give them more if they visited him at his house, the court heard.
He allegedly raped each juvenile once while holding a knife which he used to warn them against making noise.
Prosecuting Elisha Mazorodze said on an unknown date but during the month of November the baker met the nine-year-old juvenile at Madlambuzi Business Centre and handed her some cream puffs.
Mazorodze said Maisa promised to give her more on condition she accompanied him to his home and she complied.
“Upon entering his bedroom, he closed the door and threatened to kill the juvenile with a kitchen knife if she attempted to alert neighbours.
“Maisa ripped the juvenile’s clothes off and raped her. The nine-year-old girl tried to scream but the accused threatened to stab her with the knife,” said Mazorodze.
He said the matter came to light a month later after the girl reported the incident to her guardian.
Mazorodze said during the same month Maisa called a neighbour’s seven-year-old daughter and her friend and asked them to sweep his bedroom.
He allegedly gave them cream puffs.
Later during the day, Maisa called the neighbour’s daughter to his house and promised to give her more cream puffs.
“Maisa locked the juvenile in his bedroom and threatened to stab her with a knife if she screamed. He raped her once and during the process kept threatening to stab the seven-year-old if she made noise,” said Mazorodze.
He said Maisa released the juvenile and warned her against reporting the matter.
The matter came to light when the girl’s mother noticed some bruises on her daughter’s private parts, the court heard.
Mazorodze said the woman questioned the girl and she revealed the abuse.
