As part of a major rebranding initiative, ZB Financial Holdings opened a new service centre in Gweru, which will see the group adopting a new model that will centralise operations within branches as it strives to be customer-centric and increase client brand loyalty.
This conversion of branches to One Digital ZB Service Centres puts their house operations such as ZB Building Society, ZB Life Insurance, ZB Reinsurance and ZB Transfer Secretaries under one roof.
The one-stop shop commissioned in Gweru over the weekend is in line with their transformation programme which started early last year and is now in full swing with branch renovations, digital upgrades and staff undergoing training.
In a speech read on his behalf by Midlands Province director for economic development Mr Kosheni Mtisi, the province’s Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Larry Mavima commended the transformation initiative, saying it would positively impact the growth of the nation.
“You have transformed yourselves, not just changed your face, enabling an environment for a good customer experience. It is treating the people with respect — Ubuntu,” said Minister Mavima.
The transformation dovetails with the nation’s vision of achieving an upper middle income economy by 2030.
“It is the pursuit of this vision which will deliver broad based transformation, new wealth creation and expanding horizons of economic opportunities for all Zimbabweans, with no one left behind,” said Minister Mavima
ZB group chief executive officer Shepherd Fungura said the service centres provide financial services in banking, insurance and investments, all under one roof.
“Within this service centre we have tellers for withdrawals and deposits, service consultants to assist with all your queries as well as access to loans, investments and insurance products; we have a self-service area where you can conduct your transactions on your own, the ATMs where you can withdraw both Zimbabwe dollar and US dollar cash,” he said.
“We have also added a special area for merchant services for all queries related to the Point of Sale terminal business and a dedicated area to facilitate money transfer services.”
Through the transformation drive, the bank is focusing on financially supporting the growth of the country’s key economic sectors like agriculture, mining and infrastructure development.
“As our leaders are encouraging us, through the National Development Strategy (NDS 1) to increase production and export led productivity with particular focus on agriculture, mining, manufacturing, infrastructural development, tourism, and science and technology whilst embracing the United Nations development goals and taking due cognisance of climate change to improve our nation,” said Mr Fungura.
The rebranding aims to provide improved customer care while balancing digitalisation and physical shops under the philosophy of leaving no one and no place behind as the country gallops towards the achievement of Vision 2030.
