THE Bantu Rovers versus Hwange premiership match that was originally set for tomorrow at Hartsfield Grounds has been moved forward to Monday due to a schools rugby tournament at the same venue. Premier Soccer League chief executive officer Kennedy Ndebele said all other matches set for the same venue would go ahead as scheduled.
“The Friday match has been moved to Monday due to an event being run by the rugby authorities who are the owners of the venue. The two clubs have been advised of the changes,” said Ndebele.
Bantu Rovers are 270 minutes away from kissing the Castle Lager Premiership goodbye unless something akin to a miracle happens, especially with four teams facing the chop.
The coalminers, despite denials by their technical bench, are clearly among the championship favourites as they sit on fifth position with 37 points, six behind leaders Dynamos whom they collected four points from this season.
With the postponement of tomorrow’s game, league action kicks off on Saturday with a second derby in as many weeks set for Hartsfield Stadium.
Chicken Inn, who won last week’s derby against Bantu Rovers 2-1, will be hoping to collect their second set of maximum points against How Mine that will virtually assure them of another dance with the elite next season but they are facing tricky opponents who are not safe from relegation either.
The gold miners, under schemer Luke Masomere, are also itching for revenge having fallen 0-1 in the reverse fixture in May.
Relegation survival is stalking the three Bulawayo sides How Mine, Bantu Rovers and Chicken Inn.
Troubled Caps United face Black Rhinos at Rimuka Stadium hoping problems faced by their benefactor Twine Phiri will not affect them on the pitch.
Amahlolanyama, winless in their last two league matches, are home to second placed ZPC (Kariba). The two sides drew one-apiece in the reverse leg.
