In the bustling townships of Bulawayo, where every street corner has a story and every neighbourhood character could inspire a comedy sketch, two content creators have found the perfect formula for entertaining thousands online.

Baraack_Bozza, born Brian Sibanda, and Umnikazi Wempuphu, real name Shaun Fusire, have emerged as one of the city’s most exciting comedy partnerships, transforming everyday Ekasi (township) experiences into viral skits that resonate with audiences across Zimbabwe and beyond.
Their growing popularity on Facebook and TikTok is no accident. The duo’s success lies in their ability to turn familiar township situations into relatable comedy while weaving in lessons about relationships, crime, friendships, and life in the hood.
What makes their partnership work is the fact that both men draw from similar experiences. Baraack_Bozza hails from New Magwegwe, while Umnikazi Wempuphu grew up in Njube. Their township upbringing has given them a shared understanding of the characters, situations, and social dynamics that form the backbone of their content.

“We both come up with ideas as people who stay Ekasi. We simply create stories from the lives we see every day,” said Umnikazi Wempuphu when asked who comes up with scripts for their skits.
That authentic connection to township life has become their biggest strength. Whether they are portraying jealous husbands, troublesome neighbours, streetwise hustlers, or notorious local characters, their performances feel real because they are inspired by people they have encountered throughout their lives.
The partnership itself has proven to be a masterstroke. While Umnikazi Wempuphu had already built a following with his comedy skits, the introduction of Baraack_Bozza’s tough, gangster-like character added a fresh dynamic that elevated the content to another level.
The chemistry between the pair is evident in every video. Their arguments, confrontations, and comedic misunderstandings have become fan favourites, earning them a loyal audience that eagerly anticipates their next upload.
If their partnership were ever turned into a movie, they already know what it would be called.
“Double Trouble. Our content is always about people getting into trouble or disagreeing with each other,” said
Umnikazi Wempuphu.
One of their most memorable moments behind the scenes highlighted just how convincing their performances can be.
“We once filmed a skit in a park where I was playing a man who had been beaten by his wife. I had bandages all over me, and people genuinely thought it was real. They surrounded us, trying to help until they realised it was just content,” he recalled.
Despite their growing success, the duo maintains a simple creative process. Rather than rigidly scripting every scene, they often allow their natural humour and friendship to guide them.
“Sometimes we forget our lines, but we just freestyle everything, and it ends up working,” said Umnikazi Wempuphu.
Their content is not solely about making people laugh. Many of their skits are inspired by real-life incidents and carry deeper messages. One popular skit featured Baraack_Bozza catching Umnikazi Wempuphu outside his yard, attempting to contact his wife to check whether it was safe to enter the house. The comedic encounter escalated into one of the duo’s most talked-about productions.
“There was a situation where a man was given an ultimatum to either take his own life or be killed after sleeping with someone else’s wife. We turned it into edutainment to show people the consequences of those choices,” said
Umnikazi Wempuphu.
Away from the cameras, not much changes between the pair.
“If there were no cameras, we’d still be making noise and joking around. It would be like street theatre because people always end up gathering to watch us,” he said.
For Baraack_Bozza, storytelling has always been more than entertainment. The 29-year-old is a teacher by profession, as well as an actor, musician, poet, and MC. Growing up in the township shaped both his outlook and creative approach.
“I grew up in the township and embraced Kasi life. I survived it. Our skits show the realities people face every day — the hoodlums, the toxic relationships, and the dangers of trusting the wrong people. We make people laugh while they’re learning,” Baraack_Bozza said.
His creative credentials extend beyond social media. An award-winning actor recognised for his role in Amanxeba, Baraack_Bozza has also appeared in productions including The Jaws of Death, Uhlupho, and Maliwe. He also maintains an active music career, blending Amapiano, house and kwaito influences in his work.
Yet it is his partnership with Umnikazi Wempuphu that is attracting the most attention.
