PRETORIA University FC coach Steve Barker is happy with the Zimbabweans in his team’s workmanlike attitude towards football.
Barker has Tendai Tanyanyiwa as the team’s goalkeepers’ trainer and Washington Arubi who is the first choice goalkeeper.Arubi was superb throughout the season for the Pretoria-based outfit.
Barker told Chronicle Sport: “I’m delighted to work alongside Zimbabweans in the team, they have been dedicated and gave everything they could to the team.
“Surely I would love to continue working with them next season as they gave the team their all.”
Barker said he is looking at some players in Zimbabwe to beef up his squad for next season.
“Zimbabwe has good players, hopefully we might find perfect players who can help us compete well in the PSL.”
According to a reliable source AmaTuks are in talks with Dynamos and Hwange players and the negotiations are at an advanced stage.
Tanyanyiwa is in talks with the team for his contract extension as it expires in June.
“I would love to continue working with the team next season as I believe I have so much to offer and learn at the same time.
“It’s always great to work under the leadership of Barker. He is a straight forward coach and he believes in hard work and results,” said the former Dynamos and Highlanders goalie.
Other Zimbabweans who played for AmaTuks previously are Obert Moyo, Dominic Sithole, big David Mkandawire, Lionel M’tizwa and Obadiah Tarumbwa.
