THE BULAWAYO Basketball Association (BBA) League is set to resume on 01 February at Khanyisile Sports Centre, following a mid-season break during the festive season.

Southern Mavericks are on top of the BBA league in the men’s category while Lakers (A) are leading in the women’s league.

BBA Secretary-general Francis Dube said they were already a week behind but this coming weekend would see the return of the BBA with some mouthwatering fixtures.

“There is a lot at stake with the National Championships on the cards and the second half of the league will be exciting as it is the home stretch and the champions of this season will get an automatic qualification to the Championships.

“We will also be involved in school activities, whether tournaments or league games as we provide referees and technical expertise to Nash,” said Dube.

On the weekend of 22 February, Bulawayo will take part in the Inter-Provincial tournament that will be held in Harare and Bulawayo will be playing host to this year’s edition of the National Club Championships.
