BBA: Team Pokello ups campaign

divided over who to vote for this week Pokello and Hakeem Mandaza, those who know better say it is better to vote for both housemates instead of one.
However, as things stand, Team Pokello has gone into overdrive to ensure that they keep Pokello in Africa’s biggest reality show for 91 days and if possible walk away with the grand prize of US$300 000 up for grabs.

For the past four weeks, Team Pokello led by Hovhorosi Style designers James Pande and Herbert Huruba, the fan club has been well organised and each week they have distributed hundreds of T-shirts, caps as well as Hovhorosis to fans as part of the campaign strategy to keep Pokello in the House.

According to Pande, Team Pokello approached them to design promotional material for her fans and they were still waiting to hear from Team Hakeem to do the same.
“We are aware that some people think we are aligning ourselves to Pokello. That is not the case. In fact, we are rallying behind Team Zimbabwe but for some reason or other Team Hakeem is yet to come to us so that we provide the campaign material just like we are doing for Pokello.

“Remember, we are entrepreneurs and whenever we see a business opportunity we deliver the goods. Most people come to us because they know our designs are of high quality and they know that we have been behind the Hovhorosi Style which became a hit because of President Mugabe’s signature.
“That signature is a big brand and other people now appreciate our Hovhorosi Style,” he said.

Co-designer Huruba said every weekend fans stand to win T-shirts, caps and overalls through Team Pokello.
“So far the campaign has been wonderful. We have held parties to celebrate Pokello’s victory in Harare where fans come together, have drinks and share their views on Pokello’s performance in the House. First and foremost, Pokello is representing Zimbabwe and that is why we rally behind her.

Even Hakeem is our representative and this is why we support him and we wish they both stay in the house right through to the end,” Huruba said.
He said the Hovhorosi Style gear was everywhere including football supporters who have indicated their interest in the overalls.
Team Pokello are the administrators of Pokello’s Big Brother Facebook fan page, Team Pokello Big Brother Africa Season 8.

Huruba said the demand was for Team Pokello regalia was so high that as designers they were working round the clock to ensure that the promotional material gets to even the remotest parts of Zimbabwe.

Pokello’s posters are written “Vote for Pokello, Zimbabwe’s chance at Big Brother: The Chase 2013 . . . Team Pokello”, the caps are inscribed “Team Pokello”, while the T-shirts have links to her Facebook support page.

The promotional material will be used to garner support for Pokello both locally and internationally as plans are underway to distribute the material across the country’s borders.
For one to win BBA, they need a lot of support and votes from people, not only from their country but from other African countries as well.
Therefore, it is necessary to reach out to these people through social networks and by using promotional material to spread the word.
