THE Zanu PF membership and Zimbabweans at large should be wary of sideshows, misinformation and falsehoods peddled by detractors bent on distracting the party and nation from the core objective of realising Vision 2030, President Mnangagwa has said.

In his closing remarks at the National Consultative Assembly held at the ruling party’s headquarters in Harare yesterday, the Zanu PF First Secretary said going into the New Year, it was vital that the ruling party’s membership and leadership promoted the politics of economic development.

“We, the party’s membership, should never let our guard down, but remain alert, vigilant and focused on organising and mobilising more people to join our colossal, revolutionary mass party, ZANU PF,” he said.

“Let us be wary of side-shows, misinformation and falsehoods peddled by detractors, bent on distracting our Party from our core objective of realising Vision 2030. We are united and we will forever remain united.

“Going into the year ahead, it is critically important that we promote the politics of economic development, especially among our youth, as we build, modernise and industrialise our country. Hatidi nyope kana zvinodhaka munyika yekwedu.”

ZANU PF’s party constitution and ideology, coupled with discipline, patriotism and loyalty, said the President, remained paramount.

“In our mobilisation activities, these values should never be sacrificed on the altar of expediency.

“Those who join ZANU PF must accept who we are, our Constitution, ideology, values, aims and objectives.

“Equally, every member has duties and responsibilities, clearly stipulated in our constitution, which must be adhered to at all times.

“We are a procedural Party, with a rich liberation history and strong organisational structures, upon which we are obligated to build the Party.

“That solid foundation must not be tampered with,” he said

President Mnangagwa said it was equally important that the correct party line and line of the revolution are taught to the younger members of the party.

“Together, let us advance, defend and promote the interests of our Party, communities at the grassroots level and our nation as a whole.

“Our revolutionary wartime song “Nzira Dzemasoja” provides a timeless moral compass, around which Party decorum and discipline should be modelled, among the rank and file of the Party,” the President said.

“ZANU PF shall forever remain a People’s Party, from the people and for the people. Tiri Musangano weruzhinji rweZimbabwe. Isu tirihove, vanhu imvura. Hatisiyani nevanhu venyika yekwedu. Ngatirambe tichivaudza kuti ZANU PF yakasimba. ZANU PF inzou irikufamba.”

The President said comprehensive feedback from communities was also critical in ensuring that no one and no place is left behind.

Grassroot communities, including families and the Diaspora community who will be visiting during the festive season, he said, should be updated on progress being made at both party and Government levels.

“This is how we must cement our unbreakable bond, between the people and their Party, ZANU PF,” he said.

“Tisaneta kudzidzisana kuti “Nyika inovakwa, inotongwa, inonamatirwa nevene vayo/ Ilizwe lakhiwa, libuswe, li-khu-le-ke-lwe ngabanikazi balo”.”

President Mnangagwa also commended the NCA and party at large for the invaluable support they have rendered him, the party and the Government.

“I count on this unity, solidarity and unity of purpose as we all continue to wholeheartedly serve our motherland, Zimbabwe,” he said.

“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for the benefit of our communities and our nation. The ‘Zimbabwe of the future’ depends on us, just as we are building on from the work of those who fought for our independence, freedom, peace and sovereignty. We keep marching forward.”

He then urged party members and the general public to exercise caution during this festive period.

“I wish you all and your families a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. I urge us to be safe during the festive season, until, God willing, we meet again, in the coming year,” said the President.

President Mnangagwa commended the gathering for convening a productive NCA meeting.

“Thank you all for the fruitful meeting we have held, and for your insightful views, observations and recommendations,” he said.

“We continue to demonstrate that our Party is a mature, orderly and constitutional organisation, with a clear Vision for our motherland, Zimbabwe.

“This session of the NCA marks the final meeting of our Party for 2025. As the curtain comes down on the year, therefore, let us go back to our provinces and continue to preach unity, peace, love and hard work, within the Party and among our people.”

Vice President and Zanu PF Second Secretary Dr Constantino Chiwenga, Secretary General Advocate Jacob Mudenda and National Chairman Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri were among the delegates in attendance.
