ZIMBABWE Saints have appointed Philani “Beefy” Ncube as their head coach for the 2025 season as they continue with their mission of reviving the institution.
Newly appointed Chikwata chairman Tawanda Ruzive confirmed on Tuesday that Ncube is now with the club.
Ncube started work on Monday with the boys at Njube Ground with the mandate to give it the best towards a Premier Soccer League return.

“We have appointed Philani ‘Beefy’ Ncube as our head coach. He has taken over from Roger Ndlovu who has left for a new challenge. We wish Ndlovu all the success elsewhere.
“We are happy to announce the arrival of Philani Ncube as head coach. He is not new at the club and brings a lot of experience to the institution.
“Having scanned through resumes of several highly qualified personnel, we settled for Beefy. He brings a lot of excitement and hope to our camp that he can lead us to the Promised Land,” said Ruzive.

The Zimbabwe Saints chairman who served under Lloyd Munhanga as vice-chairman is optimistic that better times are coming. “There is an air of hope and unity at Zimbabwe Saints.
Everyone is investing in positive energy which is the way forward for the club and united as we are, we will push until the end hoping we get a positive result that will land us in the Premiership.
“Appointing a coach and allowing him to assemble his own team is one thing, we will not stop at that, we will support him. Saints has been missing from top-flight football for over a decade yet it is a brand that should be high up there with other teams that have made football history,” said Ruzive.

In the interview Ruzive said the club was grateful to the Mugadza Family for donating a bus for use.
“The Mugadzas have associated with Zimbabwe Saints from the 1950s and in the 1960s and 1970s, they assisted the club with a bus and here today, my vice chairman Lovejoy has showered the club with the kind of love and team spirit that should drive everyone to action and glory,” said Ruzive.
Ncube could not be reached for comment as he was conducting a training session.
Last year Ncube coached Arenel from the halfway post.
