A BINGA man is fighting for life in hospital after being bashed with a log over spilled beer.
Tellmore Muzamba (26) appeared before the Hwange Magistrates’ Court facing attempted murder charges after he allegedly attacked another man during the boozy brawl at his Siazemba Village homestead.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the incident occurred on 24 August 2025. The unnamed complainant accidentally spilt Muzamba’s beer.

“A disagreement ensued after the complainant spilt the accused person’s beer. The two men started shoving each other before the altercation escalated,” read an NPAZ statement.

In a fit of rage, Muzamba allegedly grabbed a log while the complainant picked up a stone. Muzamba is accused of striking the man twice, once on the head and once on the back, cracking his skull.

The severely injured man was rushed to Malaliya Clinic, then referred to St Patrick’s Hospital, before being transferred to Mpilo Central Hospital in Bulawayo for further treatment.

Muzamba was arrested at his homestead on 1 September and has been remanded in custody to 19 September.
The NPAZ condemned the attack, urging people to resolve disputes peacefully.

“It’s a sobering fact that a significant number of murder cases originate from seemingly meaningless altercations. We advise individuals to seek third-party mediation as a constructive alternative to violence,” said the authority.
