Beitbridge Area Zone Soccer League (BAZSL) teams are set to clash in the semi-finals of the Heroes cup tournament next Sunday.
Zifa Matabeleland South board member Walter Nerio Mupepereki said four teams that will meet are Bishopstone FC who are defending champions, NRZ FC, Matshiloni FC and Sporo FC.
The final will be played at Dulivhadzimu Stadium next month on Heroes’ day. At the beginning of the tournament the teams were arranged into three groups and the teams played in a round robin fashion.
Other teams that took part in the tournament are Cawood, Select Stars FC, Matshiloni, Mzingwane, Nottingham, Juicing, Sporo and Zvatanga.
“The tournament started very positively and it was immensely exciting football as the teams proved to be a threat to each other, even though poor decisions from some of the referees almost spoiled a great start. However, I wish those teams who qualified to play in next round all the best,” said Mupepereki.
