Chibi (44) of Number 650 Baobab Road in the border town denied the charges of contravening the Criminal Law (Reform and Codification) Act, Chapter 9:23.
However, Beitbridge magistrate Mr Carrington Karidzagundi convicted him on the strength of overwhelming evidence on Tuesday.
The businessman who was represented by Mr Patrick Tererai of Masawi and Partners faces imprisonment for 10 days if he defaults paying the fine.
The court heard that on April 2, Chibi who was driving his Toyota Hilux arrived at Malala tollgate 15km along the Beitbridge -Bulawayo Road.
He stopped a few metres away from the tollgate and was ordered to reverse by a Zimra official Tafadzwa Chikamhi so that he pays the toll fees.
He allegedly refused and insulted the revenue officer before speeding off.
The officers made a report to the police that led to his arrest in the border town.
Chibi, however, denied refusing to pay the tollfees and accused the Zimra officer of untoward behaviour to him.
He said the cashier did not bother to collect the money from him and he drove away without paying the toll fees.
