After a four-year hiatus, gospel songbird Bethen Pasinawako Ngolomi has released an eight track album entitled “Paita Nyasha” which she believes will cheer the hearts of many.
Her last offering was “Aripo”. The eight-track gospel offering, which was recorded at Lyt-On Studios, which Pasinawako co-owns with her husband, producer Lyton Ngolomi, expresses maturity in the way of composition.
Pasinawako’s album sleeve captures the eye from the onset with its simplicity as the singer is dressed in a colourful African attire.
Onto the music, her voice together with mature lyrics, prove the artiste is still a force to reckon with in the Zimbabwean gospel music arena as she unbundles song after song beginning with the first cut, “Ndakuziva ndiwe” which has an up-tempo sungura beat which dance enthusiasts will greatly appreciate.
In the song she makes the devil aware that his cohorts have been put to light.
Track number six is the signature style for the artist which sounds more like her popular hit “Aripo” in terms of style.
A fusion of “Naija” Afro-pop, sungura, rhumba, house and traditional contemporary gospel music the album caters for a variety of music lovers as it presents a selection of genres.
Collaborating with a number of artistes including former Extra Mberikwazo band member Jonasi Kasamba, Joseph Banda and Lyton Ngolomi Pasinawako believes this album is a game changer and she promises to do more to promote it.
As a way to show professionalism in her approach to music she will be officially launching the album soon in Harare.
Pasinawako won the hearts of many a few years ago with the catchy “Ndinzverei” song which became an instant hit.
