The dancing queens went on stage at around 11pm on Friday and were welcomed by a thunderous applause from fans who patiently waited for the sound system to be fixed after a minor mishap.
Bev’s band opened their act with well-choreographed dance moves as they danced to sungura maestro, Alick Macheso’s songs.
To add flair to the act, Bev and the Sexy Angels were joined on stage by former Macheso dancer, Peter Kagomera.
While Bev was very popular with male revellers especially when she was performing the bottle act, Peter filled in the gap as mainly ladies clapped hands while others tried to imitate his routines.
The show was also Bev’s first without Heather Samanyika, Mercy Mapuvire and Chandelle Chidyagwai who have since formed, a group called, Twinkle Light Queens.
The new girls have gelled in perfectly with Bev and Peter.
In an interview after the show Bev said all was well with the group, adding that the bottle dance was the draw card, as many people were curious to see where the bottle really enters.
“You saw for yourself where the bottle entered,” she said.
