BFA offers Caf coaching courses

ZIMBABWEAN coaches longing to attain a Caf A coaching badge have an option to explore after the Botswana Football Association (BFA) announced it will be offering the course this August.

Zimbabwe last held a Caf A coaching course in 2017.

With the country under suspension from Fifa, the only hope for local coaches is to attend courses outside the country.

The BFA says the course will run in five phases beginning August 21 to December 18.

“During breaks between the phases, coaches are expected to keep a log book of their internship work to be submitted in the next phase,” said the BFA.
The course fee is P20 000.

The local football motherbody Zifa has been enforcing policies and regulations in the game, with the clean-up exercise targeting at having only qualified personnel and authorised individuals at the Premiership dugouts.

A number of assistant coaches and support staff were “ejected” to the terraces after failing to get accredited as they don’t have requisite qualifications this season.

Coaches that do not hold the Caf A Licence are not allowed to sit on the bench for the local Premiership football games.

According to the standardisation Zifa is enforcing for local football, Premiership gaffers and their assistants must have a Caf A badge as the minimum qualification to sit on the bench this season.
